Premier League champions Liverpool were pegged back and forced to accept a share of the points against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds controlled much of the ball and much of the game and took a deserved first-half lead when Andrew Robertson superbly headed in Fabinho’s excellent ball into the box.
They looked close to a second with Roberto Firmino going closest to beating the superb Nick Pope when he hit the post just after half-time.
Burnley grew into the game, howeverm and Jay Rodrigiez took the opportunity that presented itself, slamming in on the turn from inside box to seal a share of the spoils.
Here’s how the two teams rated at Anfield:

Rarely tested in the home goal until late on and could do nothing about Rodriguez’s goal

Positive showing in his more comfortable position on the right side of defence

Tidy in possession and calm on rare occasions he was put under pressure
Virgil van Dijk – 6
Few uncharacteristic errors from the world’s best centre back

Great in possession and provided a brilliant pass for Robertson’s opening goal

Given a chance from the start and was lively and willing throughout

Surprisingly quiet afternoon for the Senegalese forward

Brilliant first-half saves from Salah and others but could do nothing about Robertson’s goal

Dealt with dual threat of Mane and Robertson as well as he could

Pulled all over by Reds front three but held his own at the heart of the defence

Did his best to keep Salah and Williams in check
Erik Pieters – 6
Found the going hard in an attacking sense but did his best defensively

Burnley’s best attacking threat and gave Williams problems going the other way

Took his one big chance superbly well to level the game and earn a share of the points
