Liverpool vs Bournemouth
Premier League 2018-19
Venue: Anfield
Date: Saturday, February 9, 2019
Kick-off: 3pm GMT
Liverpool are back in action at Anfield this weekend as they host Bournemouth knowing they can go back on top of the Premier League table.
Manchester City's 2-0 win at Everton on Wednesday night sent the champions into first place on goal difference, though Pep Guardiola's side have played a game more than Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp's title chasers welcome Eddie Howe's Bournemouth to Merseyside on Saturday, and a win would put pressure on Man City to match that result against Chelsea on Sunday.
Saturday's game will be a big test for Liverpool after two draws in a row, and Klopp will want a statement result should the Anfield atmosphere become nervy as it did against Leicester.
Liverpool team news and predicted line-up
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Georginio Wijnaldum remain doubts with knee injuries, while Jordan Henderson and Dejan Lovren (hamstring) will also be assessed.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) and Joe Gomez (ankle) both remain out.
Naby Keita was again out of sorts against West Ham, but could play due to the lack of options. Xherdan Shaqiri may also get a start.
Liverpool XI: Alisson, Milner, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Shaqiri, Salah, Mane, Firmino
Score prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Bournemouth
Bournemouth have shown this season that they are delightfully unpredictable, following up a 4-0 thrashing of Chelsea by losing 2-0 at Cardiff.
Liverpool beat the Cherries 4-0 on the south coast earlier this season, and Eddie Howe's men have shipped four goals at Burnley, five at Tottenham and four at home to Manchester United.
Saturday's game should prove a tighter affair with Liverpool under pressure and out of form, but an early goal may well lead to a landslide victory for Klopp.
