Liverpool vs Bayern: Jurgen Klopp upbeat despite Champions League stalemate ahead of second leg in Munich

Jurgen Klopp is not upset despite a setback in Liverpool’s pursuit of returning to the Champions League final.

The Reds were held to a goalless draw vs Bayern Munich at Anfield in the first leg of their last 16 tie.

Sadio Mane missed several guilt-edged chances, but Klopp remains upbeat at half-time.

“For us, it’s absolutely OK. It’s not a dream result but it’s a good one and we can work with that,” Klopp told BT Sport.

“It’s not a game we will remember in 20 years but it’s a result we have.

“A lot of things were really good. We played against an outstandingly good side.

“I’m not over the moon but I’m completely OK with the game so now, let’s recover and play against United, which will be another tough one.”

Andy Robertson also praised the quality of Bayern and the test facing the Reds.

“You’re playing an experienced team. They’ve been here and done it for five or six years,” said left back Andy Robertson.

“We’ve kept a clean sheet, could’ve scored a couple of goals but the tie is well and truly alive. If we score there it’s crucial.”
