Liverpool vs Arsenal prediction and odds: Mo Salah and Emile Smith Rowe backed to be main threats at Anfield

The international break is over and Liverpool have a number of headaches to deal with when they welcome an Arsenal side who are rising up the Premier League table.

The Reds are 12/25 favourites with Grosvenor Sport while Arsenal are 11/2 and a draw is 15/4.

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Fabinho and Sadio Mane are available for selection ahead of Saturday evening's match at Anfield but late fitness calls on Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson will mean the starting eleven will be tinkered with once again.

Their unbeaten run came to an end after their trip down to east London saw the Reds crash to a 3-2 defeat - meaning they are yet to win in London this season after drawing 3-3 to newcomers Brentford.

For Mikel Arteta, this will be the first serious test since they were thrashed at Man City back in August with the Gunners on a 10-match unbeaten run in all competitions and find themselves back in two points behind their hosts.

Team stats

Liverpool will be looking to tighten up their defences after conceding three goals for the second time this season after losing 3-2 to West Ham before the international break.

They average 0.98 goals conceded per game this season but with Arsenal blanking just once in their 10 matches in all competitions, Alisson might have a busy shift again. Both teams to score at 4/7.

The Gunners average 11.07 total corners per game while Liverpool average 10.18 but the visitors have hit their average just twice in their last five matches while Liverpool have not in their last six - under 10.5 total corners is 27/25.

Players to watch

Well if I do not mention Mo Salah then there is something wrong with me. The Reds got a boost in the international break when the Egyptian played just 30 minutes in Egypt's match against Gabon on Tuesday.

The winger has 23 goal involvements including 17 goals from 15 appearances in all competitions and is 3/4 to score anytime but I will go at a stretch and back him as first goal scorer at 3/1.

For Arsenal, keep an eye on Emile Smith Rowe after his first England international cap.

The midfielder has picked up four league goals this season and has featured on the scoresheet in the last three matches. However, I'm going to back him to provide this weekend and add to his two assists this season.

H2H

This will be the 234th meeting between the two sides with Liverpool having the better overall record with 90 wins, 64 draws and 79 defeats.

Last season, Liverpool done the double over the Gunners in the Premier League but have not won three consecutive league matches since August 2017.
