Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk disagreed with a reporter's suggestion that right-back could be an issue for the Reds following Trent Alexander-Arnold's exit.
A 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday night was the Reds' third in a row across all competitions, and has prompted serious questions being asked over the club's hopes of retaining their league crown.
Alexander-Arnold's high-profile move to Real Madrid in the summer has seen Conor Bradley, new signing Jeremie Frimpong and even midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai playing out of position to fill the void.
Asked after the game at Stamford Bridge if the position is a problem manager Arne Slot needs to solve, Van Dijk got short with the reporter.
"You're focusing a lot of the right-back position," Van Dijk interjects with, prompting the reporter to reply: "I'm just curious about it as so many different players..."
Van Dijk again interrupts with: "So many different qualities as well. Jeremie has got pace, he's obviously new to the club and has just come back from injury. Conor showed it last season so many times how good he is, and this season as well.
"Dom gives a different dimension to the game ... he is obviously a midfielder. The right-back is not the issue if you [are trying to] do that. You asked two questions about the right-backs. Maybe you feel like the right-back is the problem."
