Liverpool v Tottenham prediction, Mo in the mood to make it eight

So the 100 per cent record has gone, but Liverpool are still flying high unbeaten at the top of the Premier League table - and with an unbeaten home record stretching back all the way to April 23, 2017.

Can both runs be stretched even further?

We asked our Liverpool correspondent Paul Gorst for his verdict on Sunday's visit of Tottenham to Anfield.

Recommended bets

Both Teams To Score and Either Team to Win 6/5

Mo Salah first goal 16/5

Win, lose or draw?

Tottenham are in disarray at the moment aren't they?

Liverpool, in contrast, are anything but. A slick, well oiled-machine under Jurgen Klopp, they haven't lost in the Premier League since January and have won 17 of their last 18 games in the top flight, including a 2-1 win over Spurs at Anfield.

The Reds beat the Londoners three times last season, home, away and in Madrid for the Champions League final. I fancy another home win on Sunday. The bookies also think that way with the Reds 4/9 with thepools.com .

Who's a good bet for first scorer?

I think Mohamed Salah will do the business on Sunday. He was far from his brilliant best in Genk but still took his goal exceptionally well.

Seven for the season for him now and I am backing him to make it eight - at least - on Sunday afternoon. He's 16/5 to score first in the match and 10/11 to register anytime .

Who's on pens?

Well, that'll be Salah.. Maybe that goal I've so reliably tipped him for will come from 12 yards?

Will Liverpool keep a clean sheet?

Liverpool's defence has yet to develop the miserly streak that made it the toughest in the Premier League to breach last term and Spurs have plenty of players capable of finding the back of the net, not least England Golden Boy Harry Kane.

I expect Spurs to grab a goal, even if I am confident of a Liverpool victory. Both teams To Score is 6/10 but Both teams To Score and Either Team To Win is a much better 6/5 .

Yellow card?

Fabinho? The Brazilian is one booking away from a one-game suspension, so picking up a caution will see him miss Aston Villa next Saturday, effectively cutting short the tightrope for him to feature against Manchester City in that crucial game next month.
