It's been billed as a potential title-decider - in November - such is the quality of the two sides in opposition.
And while whatever happens at Anfield won't mathematically decide anything, psychologically it could massively damage one team's prospects.
We asked our Manchester City expert Liam Corless for his verdict on City's prospects at Anfield on Sunday.
Win, lose or draw?
Anfield is not a happy hunting ground for the Blues but they cannot afford to lose and fall nine points behind the Premier League leaders.
Liverpool have been riding their luck of late, though, so I expect City to get some kind of result, probably a draw. That's a 12/5 tip on the pools.com.

Who's a good bet for first goalscorer?
Sergio Aguero loves a goal against Liverpool and he's been in red-hot form this season. He's my tip for first scorer. He's also a surprisingly generous 17/4 first scorer with thepools.com and 13/10 to score at any time .
Who's on the naughty step?
Jurgen Klopp responded to Pep Guardiola's comments about Sadio Mane's diving with a remark about City's tactical fouling.
Whoever starts at the base of City's midfield will do well to come through the game without picking up a booking, so I think Rodri is Blues player most likely to be cautioned.
Who's on pens?
If Aguero's on the pitch, it will be him. Riyad Mahrez would be wise to step away following his howler at Anfield last term. The Algerian is 3/1 to score at any time.
Will City keep a clean sheet?
No team has kept a clean sheet against Liverpool in the Premier League this season and I don't expect City to, either, especially with Aymeric Laporte unavailable. Both Teams To Score is 1/2 but if you fancy one team to keep a clean sheet, a 'No' to that question is priced at 6/4 .
