Man City 2-1 Liverpool. The Reds have been below par for much of pre-season – although they were good on Wednesday in beating Lyon – but too many of their best players have only just returned.

Who’s a good bet for 1st scorer?
Tough one, really. If Salah starts (11/2 thepools.com), he'd be the one. There's no Mane, though. Otherwise, Origi is certain to play so he would appear the most likely. Go with him. At 13/2 he's a great price first scorer and 9/4 anytime.
Who’s on the naughty step?
There's one Liverpool player nailed on to be booked and that's Fabinho. In that midfield engine room he doesn't mind the odd tactical foul that City also love.
Who’s on pens?
If Milner plays, and there's no guarantee of that, he's definitely the number one taker - and 16/1 first scorer , with VAR on the job, is a great price for first scorer. After that, it's Salah. However, there's every chance neither will start, in which case Alexander-Arnold might be in with a shout. He took them at under-23 level.
Will van Dijk and co. keep a clean sheet?
Liverpool were one of the few teams to keep a clean sheet against City last season, but given the wobbles of pre-season at the back it would be quite something if they keep out Guardiola's side once more. Both teams to score is 4/6 with thepools.com
