Liverpool urged to prioritise Kai Havertz transfer this summer - but shouldn't move for Timo Werner

Liverpool have been told to prioritise a move for Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Both the Reds and Manchester United are said to be in the hunt for Jurgen Klopp's fellow countryman, with German media outlet SPORT BILD suggesting recently that the Bundesliga side are expecting a bid from the Anfield club this summer.

Like Jadon Sancho and Kylian Mbappe, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Havertz on several occasions throughout the season, and former Chelsea star Craig Burley is calling on the Reds to make their move this summer.

“There’s been talks of Lallana going and one or two others.I can see him going in for a player like this to bolster the Liverpool squad.

“I think it makes more sense for Havertz to go there than Werner.

“Werner wants to play every week, and with that front three at Liverpool that’s going to be difficult.

“It makes sense for Liverpool to go for him.

“It makes sense for young talented guys to come in and bolster the squad.”
