Liverpool urged to make Gareth Bale transfer & why Jurgen Klopp is perfect for Real Madrid outcast

Liverpool have been urged to try and sign Gareth Bale before transfer deadline day by club legend Mark Lawrenson.

The Wales international is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu, while the forward saw a move to Jiangsu Suning fall through last month despite manager Zinedine Zidane's insistence he wanted the forward sold.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp hinted before Simon Mignolet's departure that there was one position he would like to strengthen at Anfield, with it believed the Reds were in the market for another versatile forward.

With just three days to go until the transfer window closes, such a deal has not been forthcoming with it looking unlikely Liverpool will strengthen their attacking ranks.

But Lawrenson has called upon his former side to rescue Bale from Spain, believing Klopp is the perfect manager to get the best out of the Welshman's flailing career.

“I think Klopp could get the best out of him,” he told Paddy Power for the new Pitch Invader magazine. “The only problem is would he fit into that front three but you could even play him on the left of the three in midfield and let him bomb on.

“He’s such a good player and such a talent. He just needs to be loved and Klopp would be the perfect fit to do that.

“People say he’s got injury problems and all that but Klopp would get him mega fit.”
