Liverpool urged to follow Diogo Jota pathway as they look to bolster their options

Liverpool have been urged to again raid Wolves by adding Adama Traore and Pedro Neto this summer.

The Reds signed Diogo Jota for £40 from their Premier League rivals last summer and the forward enjoyed an excellent first half of the season.

Injuries have halted his momentum and meant that Jurgen Klopp has lacked depth in his attacking options.

Former Liverpool front man Emile Heskey believes more recruits can be found at Wolves and sees Neto and Troare as perfect options.

He has cited their style of play as a major plus and thinks it would get them closer to the sort of squad currently possessed by title favourites Manchester City.

Heskey told the Rousing the Kop website: “Traore and Neto give you different options and both are exciting players. Very, very direct which suits the way that Liverpool play.

“They’ve never really had that (the depth) before. Usually, the front-three have killed off a game, and you bring the others (Shaqiri and Origi) on to see the game out.

“Now, we are relying on those two to get ourselves back into a game or to finish off a game and it’s not quite there. The depth isn’t quite at the level of Man City.”

Traore has been linked with a Wolves exit and is by no means been a regular.

Neto though has continued to develop at Molineux and is among the team's leading lights having scored their winner at the weekend against Southampton.

Wolves have continued to impress and invest since their return to the top flight in 2018.

But a poor season thus far has set them back and cast doubt over the future of manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Liverpool could pounce this summer as they look to reassess and go again domestically.
