Liverpool unveil three summer signings as transfer business steps up

Liverpool’s transfer business has stepped up a notch with three new signings were unveiled on their club website.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are operating with financial restrictions after the coronavirus pandemic and unlikely to spend big money on their first-team squad.

But that is not stopping them looking to the future with a string of youth signings - three of whom have now already arrived at the club.

Fabian Mrozek, Mateusz Musialowski and Melkamu Frauendorf have all put pen to paper and officially become Liverpool players, joining Kostas Tsimikas, who signed last month.

Their status as members of the club was confirmed as pictures of them in Liverpool kit were added to the squad profiles section of the Liverpool website’s academy page.

Goalkeeper Mrozek agreed a deal from FC Wroclaw late last season but has now officially arrived and been joined by fellow Polish youth international Musialowski from SMS Lodz.

They recently agreed a deal to also sign Germany youth international midfielder Frauendorf from Hoffenheim as the trio join the youth setup.

They are all expected to bolster the ranks of the Under-18s and Under-23s sides, with Marc Bridge-Wilkinson and Barry Lewtas now in charge of the two sides.

A fourth new signing could soon join them from overseas with the Liverpool Echo reporting the club have placed a bid to sign teenage goalkeeper Marcelo Pitulaga.

The 17-year-old Fluminense stopper is on their radar having shown his potential in Brazil and already trained with their first-team.

It is claimed in Brazil a deal has been accelerated by the coronavirus pandemic and Liverpool could hand him a chance to learn under fellow Brazilian Alisson Becker at Anfield.

Several youngsters are already on the fringes of Jurgen Klopp's first-team squad.

Neco Williams, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott are all primed for a big role with Billy Koumetio also impressing in pre-season.
