Liverpool unbeaten run ending named best moment of Premier League season by fans

Liverpool's unbeaten run coming to an end as been voted the best moment of the Premier League season by a BBC fan vote.

The Reds, dominant in the top flight all season, hold a record title lead as they wait to secure their first ever Premier League crown during the coronavirus hiatus.

They looked sure to become the first team since Arsenal's famous 'Invincibles' team of 2003-04 to go the whole season unbeaten.

However, on February 29, just two weeks before the league was put on hold, Liverpool travelled to Vicarage Road and were thumped 3-0 by Watford.

Three goals in 18 second-half minutes, two from Ismaila Sarr and one from Troy Deeney, secured a deserved win for a rampant Hornets side. The game earned 30 per cent of the fan vote.

The defeat came after 18 straight Premier League wins for Liverpool, a stunning run which has helped leave them just two more from the title when - or if - the season resumes.

Coming in second in the vote was Liverpool's 3-1 win over Manchester City in November.
