Liverpool UKIP election leaflet makes one BIG mistake

The local elections take place tomorrow - and parties are out campaigning across Liverpool to try to secure your vote.

Polling stations will be open between 7am and 10pm across the city tomorrow and results will be coming in through the night.

And with just hours to go before voting starts, you will be getting plenty of leaflets through your door explaining why one particular party is most deserving of your vote.

While major parties have put forward candidates in all thirty wards, The United Kingdom Independence Party are contesting just three.

And their candidate in the Kensington and Fairfield ward has made one rather unfortunate mistake on the election leaflet he is putting through people's doors.

Thomas Paul Kangley has been attempting to bang the UKIP drum for putting Britain and the British people first.

But unfortunately he has spelt Britain incorrectly on his leaflets.

He is instead telling people he will be putting 'Britian first.'

Unsurprisingly the error has been picked up by some political rivals.

Labour Councillor James Noakes, who is from the Kensington area, tweeted an image of the leaflet and joked: "Perhaps knowing how to spell Britain could be a starting point? Or maybe there’s a Brit called Ian who needs support?"

He then told the ECHO: "Kensington is a diverse place with many challenges and needs the community brought together not dividing. This may be an amusing spelling mistake but the real mistake would be his party."

Mr Kangley will be contesting the Kensington and Fairfield seat in tomorrow's election against the following candidates:

Damien Patrick Daly - Liberal Party

Brian James Jones - Conservative Party

Rebecca Lawson - Green Party

Pat Moloney - Liberal Democrats

Joe Owens - No party given

Wendy Simon - Labour Party
