Liverpool U23s 3-6 Manchester United U23s: Ethan Galbraith lines out with £37m signing as young side hammer Liverpool

Ethan Galbraith helped Manchester United Under-23s record an impressive 6-3 win over Liverpool U23s on Saturday.

The Co Antrim teenager started in midfield for the young Red Devils.

Speculation continues to surround Galbraith's immediate future at United, with a number of Championship clubs monitoring the 19-year-old.

It is understood Manchester United could look at a loan deal for the Glengormley teen to get him more regular first-team football.

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also hinted that he may promote a number of the club's young stars as the season progresses.

Saturday's win over Liverpool also saw new £37m signing Amad Diallo score twice on his U23 debut.

Diallo arrived from Atalanta earlier this month, and could soon be drafted into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first team plans.

First-team star Brandon Williams also started for the U23s on Saturday.

The youngster has been pushed down the pecking order following the arrival of Alex Telles.

Meanwhile, first team manager Solksjaer has explained the logistics of Under 23 players being brought into the senior squad.

He said: "Of course, with the youngsters, we do have some kids there that are looking like they can take the next step very soon.

"But, then again, in the times we're in and the bubbles we're in and the training bubbles, we have to be careful on when to promote them. As soon as they move out of the 23s bubble and into ours they can’t just go back there and train, so it has to be for a longer period.

"They can go there and play a game, so say when Brandon went and played with the 23s or Amad is going to play with the 23s, that means they have to travel by themselves, get changed in a different dressing room and just go out there and play with them. Then you're back in our bubble.

"If they train with them, suddenly they’re out of ours and into theirs. It takes planning but there are a couple that if we get injuries and issues we can look at promoting."
