Liverpool triple fixture change confirmed by Premier League with Steven Gerrard reunion set

Liverpool have had three of their upcoming Premier League fixtures rescheduled. The Reds are currently battling Manchester City for the title, and have eight matches left to play.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are one point behind Man City in the table, before their showdown at the Etihad Stadium later this week. This match comes a few days before Liverpool take on City in the FA Cup semi-final.

Due to Liverpool’s involvement in the FA Cup, their clash against Aston Villa was forced to be postponed until a new date was set. Now, that fixture at Villa Park has been confirmed to take place on Tuesday, May 10 at 8pm, and will be broadcast by Sky Sports.

It will see Liverpool go up against their club legend and now-Villa manager Steven Gerrard. The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 1-0 win for the Reds, with Mohamed Salah netting the winning goal from the penalty spot in December.

That’s not the only match to be rescheduled, with Liverpool’s home clash against Tottenham Hotspur also being changed. That fixture is taking place on Saturday, May 7 and will kick off at 7.45pm.

The last Liverpool match to be changed is their away trip to Southampton. The Reds will now take on the Saints on Sunday, May 15 with kick off scheduled for 4.30pm.

However, this match could be changed again should Liverpool beat Man City in the FA Cup semi-final. The Wembley showpiece is pencilled in for Saturday, May 14, a day before the Reds are now due to face Southampton.

This latest round of fixture changes means seven of Liverpool’s final eight remaining league fixtures have been selected for television broadcast. The only match left to be changed is the Reds’ clash against Wolves at Anfield on the final day of the season.
