Liverpool trio Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones have returned a suspected positive coronavirus test.
The three players will all miss tonight’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United at Anfield.
The Reds have chosen not to apply for the game to be postponed as they do not regard this as an “outbreak” in the first-team environment at present.
A number of games throughout England have been called off in recent days as the omicron variant of covid sweeps across the country.
Van Dijk, Fabinho and Jones all returned what are regarded as suspected positive tests. They are all isolating pending the result of further tests to confirm they have contracted the virus.

The remainder of Jurgen Klopp’s senior set-up – including the first-team squad and coaching staff – were re-tested on Thursday with everyone receiving a negative result.
A number of Liverpool players have previously missed games through a positive coronavirus test, including Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Thiago Alcantara.
At present, the Reds are planning for the visit to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday going ahead with Klopp due to hold his usual pre-match media conference on Friday.
