A number of youngsters have failed to make the cut, with Curtis Jones, Ben Woodburn and Nat Phillips set to train instead with the Under-23s.
Ryan Kent, meanwhile, will remain on Merseyside having been struck down by illness ahead of Sunday’s friendly against Napoli.
But there is room for summer signings Harvey Elliott and Sepp van den Berg, while Under-18s forward Bobby Duncan is included in the travelling party.
