Liverpool transfers - Youri Tielemans 'talks opened', Jadon Sancho 'deadline' for £100m deal

A 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season saw Liverpool secure third and Champions League football for next season.

At one stage, that appeared extremely unlikely for Jurgen Klopp's side, but a fine sequence of results, accompanied by Leicester City's downturn in form, saw the tide change in the final weeks of the campaign.

And no sooner had the whistle blown inside Anfield for the final time last season, fans quickly turned their thoughts to the upcoming transfer window.

Reds boss Klopp will be keen to add to his squad and challenge for the Premier League title next term, but what players will they actually sign?

Here, we take a lookout some of the latest rumours doing the rounds and how likely they are to happen.

Tielemans 'talks'

Liverpool have reportedly opened talks to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

Journalist Daniel Nilson is reporting that talks have been opened over a potential move, although it appears unlikely given the huge fee Leicester will want for the midfielder.

The Belgian international enjoyed an outstanding campaign for Brendan Rodgers' side and has been linked as a possible Gini Wijnaldum replacement.

Sancho 'deadline' for £100m deal

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Liverpool-linked winger Jadon Sancho.

According to The Times, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are close to finalising a £100m deal to sign the England international from Borussia Dortmund.

A fee of £80m will be paid in instalments, with an additional £20m potentially coming later as add-ons.

But a report in Germany claims that Dortmund are keen for any deal to be finalised before their players return for pre-season training on July 23.

Saul 'determined' to leave Atletico

Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez is 'determined' to leave the club this summer.

They claim the midfielder who was last week linked with Liverpool has been left frustrated at his lack of involvement in the club's La Liga-winning campaign, making just 22 league starts.

The report goes on to claim that Atletico could listen to offers around the £69m mark, which is significantly lower than his £129m release clause.
