Liverpool transfers - Saul Niguez £35m deal and £30m Euro 2020 star

Victory over Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season saw Liverpool secure third and Champions League football for next season.

At one stage, that appeared extremely unlikely for the Reds, but a fine sequence of results, accompanied by Leicester City's downturn in form, saw the tide change.

Now, just over two months on from the Reds' final game of the season, they are being linked with plenty of stars now that the summer window has arrived, with Jurgen Klopp having already added Ibrahima Konate to his ranks.

But who else can we expect to see at Anfield? We take a look at the latest gossip from around the globe and rate how likely they are to happen.

Who?

Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

Where?

Spanish outlet SPORT via Empire of the Kop.

What?

According to the report, Liverpool are reportedly 'favourites' to sign Niguez this summer, alongside Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The report claims it would take a minimum of €40million (£35m) to get the deal over the line, which is way short of the midfielder's €150 million release clause in his contract.

The Reds are currently being linked with a host of players tipped to replace Gini Wijnaldum, with Saul being one that dominates most of the headlines.

And following the arrival of Rodrigo de Paul at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Niguez is likely to be surplus to requirements this summer.

Who?

Lille forward Jonathan David.

Where?

What?

The report claims Liverpool are keeping a close eye on David and could make a bid should the French champions make him available for sale.

The 21-year-old scored 13 times last term as Lille shocked PSG to win Ligue 1 for the first time in a decade.

David joined Lille last year, but the report claims he could be on the move again with his club desperate for funds to counter their own financial issues.

Who?

Sampdoria winger Mikkel Damsgaard.

Where?

Sport Mediaset.

What?

According to the report, Liverpool have entered the race to sign Damsgaard this summer.

The 21-year-old impressed for Denmark at Euro 2020 and is in high demand this summer as a result of his performances.

Aston Villa, Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested but will have to pay a fee in the region of £30million to have any chance of completing a deal.
