Liverpool transfers - Robert Lewandowski offered, Kylian Mbappe move, Saul Niguez competition

Liverpool kicked-off their Premier League campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win over Norwich City on Saturday evening with Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah both scoring after Diogo Jota's opener.

After completing the signing of RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate in May, focus for the Reds this summer has turned to player retention and offering contract extensions to a number of key players.

There is a sense of concern among Liverpool supporters regarding the lack of incomings and despite very few concrete links, rumours continue to dominate the headlines.

And with that in mind, here are the latest rumours and gossip from around the globe.

Who?

Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski.

Where?

Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window Podcast.

What?

Liverpool have reportedly been offered the chance to sign the Bayern Munich forward.

According to McGarry, the Reds are one of three Premier League who have reportedly been offered the Polish international.

He said: “Lewandowski has been offered to Liverpool, to Manchester United and to Manchester City, each of whom have expressed a tepid amount of interest in the player regarding the possibility of signing him.

“However, each of them has also said that the €110 million (£94m) which Bayern are leaking to the German media that they would require to allow Lewandowski to leave is far too much for a player of that age.”

Who?

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

Where?

Spanish publication Diario AS.

What?

According to the report, Real Madrid are planning a late move for the French international before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.

Mbappe is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the French side, and his future has been the subject of continued speculation following Lionel Messi’s arrival at the club.

And now the report from Spain claims that Real will make a big push to sign Mbappe this summer in the last 48 hours of the window.

Liverpool have been continually - albeit tentatively - linked with a move for the French World Cup winner for over a year now, but when asked about prospect of the forward joining the Reds, Jurgen Klopp has always played down the links and chances of a transfer taking place.

Who?

Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano via Sportlens.

What?

Chelsea are reportedly keeping an eye on the Atletico Madrid midfielder.

Romano claims that Chelsea are tracking the 26-year-old Spanish international, although talks are at an early stage.

Saul has also been linked with both Liverpool and Manchester United this summer after reportedly being made surplus to requirements as Atletico.
