Who?

Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe

Where?

Ian McGarry on The Transfer Window podcast

What?

Mbappe's future at PSG remains in doubt following the recent arrival of Lionel Messi in the French capital.

Liverpool have been tentatively linked with a move for the 22-year-old for some time as the forward enters the final year of his contract.

Mbappe is yet to extend his contract with the French giants, fuelling speculation he could depart on a free.

Real Madrid remain firm favourites to land his signature after they were reportedly preparing a £120m bid to prise the player from PSG this summer.

However, transfer expert Ian McGarry revealed on The Transfer Window podcast that the Reds may have a plan in place to sign Mbappe next year when his current deal runs out.

He said; “Our understanding is that while Liverpool can’t necessarily afford a transfer fee in the region of what Chelsea paid for Romelu Lukaku, they can afford a move for Mbappe under freedom of contract next summer, when he will be out of his current deal with PSG.

“Of course, the wages will be substantial, but again, Mbappe is interested in making the move to Liverpool, something that Jurgen Klopp has a central role in, in regards to Mbappe’s respect and admiration for the German coach.

“We know that Real Madrid are interested as well and that will be an option for him. However, it is information reported to us that Liverpool are pursuing and they believe they have an opportunity in which they may be able to get Mbappe for two or three years if they include a get-out clause in his contract, which would be signed under freedom of movement.

“So Mbappe would be in charge of his future in terms of leaving Liverpool at the point he wants to, so his career plan would be one he’s completely in charge of.”

Liverpool's Ben Davies

The Star

What?

Ben Davies is edging closer to a move away from Anfield with Sheffield United set to take the defender on loan this season.

Recent reports have revealed the exact amount of money Liverpool are set to recoup as he'll spend the remainder of the campaign back in the Championship.

Davies is set to join up with Slavisa Jokanovic's squad next week as the Blades will need to pay roughy £1m to loan the former Preston North End centre half this season.

Davies has also been of interest to Celtic this summer, who Davies was close to joining in January before he opted for a move to Merseyside instead.

But, Sheffield United have seemingly won the race as the player was 'impressed with their proposal'.

Who?

Lille's Renato Sanches

Where?

L'Equipe

What?

Renato Sanches is. a player Liverpool have been heavily linked with this summer as a potential replacement for the departed Georginio Wijnaldum.

The midfielder was at the center of further speculation on Saturday as he was absent from Lille's squad that was defeated 4-0 by Nice and fans were left wondering if a move was imminent.

Latest reports from France suggest the Portuguese international will not be on the move this summer as he 'felt discomfort in his knee' and will undergo an arthroscopy on Monday.

Lille manager Jocelyn Gourvennec said: “He had this discomfort for a few days but he had restarted training well this week. But, this pain has become more severe. I can not say more. We have to wait for exams on Monday."

The French outlet further claims the 23-year-old may be sidelined until September, which would rule out any potential move to Liverpool or elsewhere.
