Liverpool transfers - Kylian Mbappe mega offer and surprise Divock Origi exit

With the domestic season fast approaching and the summer transfer window in full flow, the speculation around transfers continues to heat-up - with Liverpool continuing to be linked with a number of the world's best.

PSG are reportedly considering offering star man Kylian Mbappe a lucrative contract extension to try and convince the Frenchman to remain at the club.

Mbappe - who has only one year remaining on his current deal in Paris - has previously left the door open to a potential exit.

The 22-year-old has attracted interest from a number of European outfits, with both Liverpool and Real Madrid reportedly monitoring the the forward's situation.

Reports in Spain are suggesting that PSG and Mauricio Pochettino are desperate to keep hold of their star man and are ready to offer him a mega-money offer to convince him to stay, according to Spanish publication Marca.

Despite this, Mbappe has previously spoken about his desire and need for a "solid project", with Marca also reporting that the talented youngster is looking to grow as a footballer in a fresh environment away from French capital.

Former Reds captain Steven Gerrard and new Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou are reportedly interested in signing Origi from Liverpool.

Both Rangers and Celtic are targeting the signing of the out-of-favour Belgian, whose Anfield career looks all but finished.

Origi - who played a big part in becoming a Premier League and Champions League winner with Liverpool - only featured 17 times for Jurgen Klopp's side in the 2020/21 campaign, starting on just three occasions.

Alongside interest from the Old Firm rivals, the 26-year-old has also attracted attention from abroad and also the Premier League, with Southampton, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle all monitoring his situation.

As Liverpool continue their hunt for a replacement for the recently departed Gini Wijnaldum, the Reds could have found their man in Houssem Aouar.

According to football.london, Houssem Aouar is available for £20 million. This comes just one year after Lyon priced him at £45million, amid rumours that Arsenal were interested in signing the French midfielder.

Replacing someone like Wijnaldum is never going to be easy. The Dutchman played a significant role in the Reds winning the Champions League and Premier League in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

However, Lyon's 23-year-old has the potential the fill the void left by Wijnaldum. Although he didn't enjoy best campaign last season, his talent is unquestionable - as was displayed in 2018 when Manchester City played Lyon in the Champions League.

With many drawing similarities to Liverpool's current midfielder Thiago Alcantara, Aouar would seemingly be a steal at just £20million.
