Liverpool transfers - Jurgen Klopp 'cancels' move, Florian Neuhaus 'offer', Youri Tielemans boost

A 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season saw Liverpool secure third and Champions League football for next season.

At one stage, that appeared extremely unlikely for Jurgen Klopp's side, but a fine sequence of results, accompanied by Leicester City's downturn in form, saw the tide change.

But no sooner had the whistle blown inside Anfield on the final day, fans quickly turned their thoughts to the upcoming transfer window.

Liverpool are being linked with plenty of stars now that the summer window has arrived, with Jurgen Klopp having already added Ibrahima Konate to his ranks.

But who else can we expect to see at Anfield? We take a look at the latest gossip from around the globe and rate how likely they are to happen.

Who?

Jurgen Klopp and Ozan Kabak.

Where?

What?

Reports in Germany claim Jurgen Klopp 'cancelled’ the transfer of Ozan Kabak from Schalke to Liverpool.

The defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Liverpool and the Reds had an option to make his stay permanent.

However, Klopp reportedly decided against that option and instead opted to buy Ibrahima Konate.

The report claims Schalke were hoping the centre-back’s performances for Liverpool could convince them to retain him, but ‘Jurgen Klopp cancelled it’.

However, the report goes on to claim that both Leicester City and Newcastle United are interested in signing the Turkish international this summer.

Who?

Youri Tielemans.

Where?

Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.

What?

Liverpool have a ‘financial advantage’ over Juventus in the race to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City.

The report claims that Juve are “at a slight disadvantage, such is the financial difference available to the two sides.”

Tielemans is the subject of much media speculation and Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move as a possible replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.

Who?

Florian Neuhaus.

Where?

German journalist Florian Plettenberg on twitter.

What?

Liverpool will reportedly make a concrete offer for Florian Neuhaus with his future set to be decided following Euro 2020.

Florian Plettenberg initially reported for Sport1 that Jurgen Klopp wants Neuhaus after talks were held in the last week.

And now Plettenberg has provided an update on the situation, saying : “Update [on] Neuhaus: Liverpool are definitely a highly interesting option for the player. A concrete offer for him is expected.

"It’s also up to Klopp. However, a decision on his future will be made after the EUROs.”
