Liverpool transfers - Harvey Barnes interest emerges as hope grows over Mohamed Salah deal

Liverpool responded to their critics with a comfortable away win at Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.

Much of the talk surrounding Jurgen Klopp's side in recent weeks has centred around a lack of transfer activity, with midfield deemed the biggest area of concern.

But the Reds displayed the quality that exists within the group at Carrow Road, issuing an early title warning to the rest of the division.

Liverpool continue to be linked with further summer signings, however, and we have rounded up the latest rumours.

The Athletic

What?

The Athletic have reported that Liverpool have 'concrete interest' in Leicester City midfielder Harvey Barnes.

A product of the Foxes' academy, Barnes shone in the Premier League last season before his campaign was cut short due to injury.

The 23-year-old scored 13 goals and registered four assists in all competitions, raising his profile in the process.

This has resulted in Liverpool keeping an eye on the England-born midfielder, though no formal offer has been made for his services at this stage.

Aware of clubs chasing Barnes, Leicester are keen to tie him down to a new deal.

Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor believes 'you can tell' Adama Traore wants to leave Wolves amid interest from Liverpool and other sides.

The Spaniard has been linked with the Reds on a couple of occasions and has two years remaining on his current contract.

Despite starting the new season with Bruno Lage's side, Agbonlahor has his concerns as to how this will play out.

"Some of the players, you can tell they want to leave," he said.

“Adama Traore, he hasn’t sorted out his new contract.

“You can tell he wants to leave. So, I think Wolves are going to be in big trouble this season.”

What?

Liverpool are 'hopeful' that Mohamed Salah will commit his future to the club.

The Egyptian forward enjoyed a perfect start to the Premier League season, scoring once and assisting twice at Norwich, and further fuelled speculation over a new deal with a standout display.

Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho and Virgil van Dijk have all signed new contracts at the club in recent weeks and it's claimed that the Reds' hierarchy are growing in confidence that Salah will follow suit.
