Liverpool transfers - Ben Davies bid rejected and Arnaut Danjuma £21m

Victory over Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season saw Liverpool secure third and Champions League football for next season.

At one stage, that appeared extremely unlikely for the Reds, but a fine sequence of results, accompanied by Leicester City's downturn in form, saw the tide change.

Now, just over two months on from the Reds' final game of the season, they are being linked with plenty of stars now that the summer window has arrived, with Jurgen Klopp having already added Ibrahima Konate to his ranks.

But who else can we expect to see at Anfield? We take a look at the latest gossip from around the globe and rate how likely they are to happen.

Who?

Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.

Where?

The Hard Tackle cites Calciomercato.

What?

Liverpool, according to the report, are keen on signing Barella in the current transfer window.

The 24-year-old has been at the San Siro for two years now, having initially arrived on loan from Cagliari in 2019 before making his transfer permanent last summer.

An integral part of the Inter team, Barella played a key role in the Nerazzurri’s first Serie A title triumph in over a decade and was a regular fixture in Italy’s winning side at the Euros.

It is claimed in the report that the Reds are keen to battle with old foes Manchester United for the player's signature.

Who?

Liverpool defender Ben Davies.

Where?

Daily Mail journalist Dominic King.

What?

According to the report, Reds centre-back Davies has caught the attention of three clubs this summer.

King's tweet claims that Celtic, Sheffield United and Bournemouth are all interested in signing Davies ahead of the start of the 2021/22 campaign.

While in the same tweet, King claims that Sheffield United have already approached Liverpool about signing Davies on loan, but that offer was rejected by the Reds.

Liverpool signed Davies from Preston North End during the 2021 January transfer window, but he is yet to make a single appearance for the Reds.

Who?

Bournemouth midfielder Arnaut Danjuma.

Where?

Spanish publication Marca via the Mirror.

What?

The report claims the Reds are interested in a move for Danjuma this summer, but will have to pay £21m to secure his services.

The 24-year-old was the Cherries' best player in the Championship last season, scoring 15 goals and creating seven assists.

While the report also claims that the Dutchman is being eyed by La Liga side Villarreal.
