Liverpool transfer target Harvey Elliott spotted in stands at Tranmere friendly

Liverpool target Harvey Elliott watched on as the Reds opened their pre-season campaign at Tranmere Rovers.

The Reds are closing in on a deal for the 16-year-old following the expiration of his youth contract at Fulham last month.

And Elliott took his place in the Main Stand at Prenton Park shortly before kick-off in Liverpool's opening warm-up match against their League One neighbours on Thursday evening.

Elliott became the youngest player ever in the Premier League in May when he appeared for the Fulham against Wolverhampton Wanderers aged just 16 years and 30 days.

The boyhood Red had attracted a host of suitors with the European champions having beaten Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig to his signature.

Elliott is unable to sign a professional contract with Liverpool until he turns 17 next April.
