Liverpool transfer stance on Youri Tielemans 'emerges' as two other midfield signings 'explored'

The January transfer window is officially open, which gives Liverpool the chance to bolster their squad.

Jurgen Klopp has the opportunity to add new faces to his ranks, with the deadline set for January 31.

A host of players have already been tipped potentially to move to Anfield before the window closes at the end of this month.

Here, we take a look at some of the latest rumours doing the rounds online and on social media and how likely they are to happen.

Who?

Aurelien Tchouameni, Monaco midfielder.

French news outlet L’Équipe, via GFFN .

What?

According to the report, Tchouameni 'won't leave Monaco in January' despite apparent interest from Liverpool.

It also lists Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus as possible candidates to sign the 21-year-old but adds that a deal is more likely in the summer.

Tchouameni was initially linked with Liverpool back in the summer, when they were frequently tipped to sign a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum.

The rumour from France contradicts a recent report from The Athletic , which claimed that the Reds are exploring midfield options ahead of the summer transfer window and Tchouameni is one of the candidates.

What?

According to the report, Liverpool are 'not interested' in signing Tielemans, whether that be this month or in the summer.

The Leicester star was first linked with a move to Anfield last summer, with the likes of Manchester United also said to be keeping tabs on the Belgium international.

It has been claimed that the Foxes 'hope to keep' Tielemans this month but could be tempted to sell should a big offer arrive.

Liverpool are not one of the teams considering a bid, the report adds.

Leicester entered contract talks with Tielemans before the season started, but are yet to strike any deal with their main midfielder.

Who?

Denis Zakaria, Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder.

Where?

German news outlet Sport1 .

What?

According to the report, it is an 'open race' for the signature of Zakaria.

The report adds that Borussia Dortmund are interested in the 25-year-old, but only on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Zakaria’s deal with Gladbach expires in the summer, and rumours over his future continue to swirl as the possibility of a free transfer grows.

It has also been claimed that Manchester United have 'held talks' with the player's representatives, but Juventus and Liverpool are also said to be interested.

Earlier reports have claimed that the Bundesliga club would be looking to recoup between €6-7m if they're to sell Zakaria this window and avoid losing him for nothing at the end of the season.
