Liverpool transfer stance on Talles Magno after speculation over talks

Liverpool are not interested in signing Talles Magno from Vasco da Gama this summer.

The Reds have continually linked with the forward in recent months after the 18-year-old burst onto the scene in Brazil last year, with reports suggesting Jurgen Klopp 's side had held talks regarding a possible move.

However, the ECHO understands Liverpool have never shown any interest in the highly-rated Brazilian.

Despite his status in his homeland, it is expected the uncapped Magno would struggle to obtain a work permit to play in the Premier League, with the Reds suffering similar issues when signing Allan Rodrigues de Souza back in 2015.

The midfielder instead spent time on loan in Finland, Belgium, Germany and Cyprus with SJK, Sint-Truiden, Hertha Berlin, Apollon Limassol and Eintracht Frankfurt, before returning to Brazil for a temporary stint with Fluminense.

The 23-year-old then left Liverpool permanently back in January to sign for Atletico Mineiro.

After deciding against moving for RB Leipzig's Timo Werner earlier this year, the Reds continue to be linked with the possibility of signing a new forward to support Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

However, the urgency for such a player is no longer as high after the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations was postponed having originally been scheduled to take place in January.

As such, it remains to be seen if Liverpool do indeed move for another forward this summer.

But either way, it would take something of a U-turn from the Reds for them to move for Magno.
