Liverpool transfer rumours rated - Phillipe Coutinho 'transfer request', De Ligt 'decision', Bruno Fernandes links

Philippe Coutinho

Who?

Liverpool's former creative midfielder who you will only know too well as the subject of many transfer rumours after his move from Anfield to Barcelona.

Where?

Coutinho has reportedly told Barcelona he wants to leave, according to  Cadena SER .

The midfielder has lifted two La Liga titles since his bumper £142m move from Liverpool in 2018 but was subject to jeers from his own fans after a humiliating Champions League exit against the Reds last season.

What?

The Brazilian only managed five goals and two assists during the campaign and his future is said to be unclear.

What is clear though is the fact he will not be returning to Merseyside and any speculation linking him with a return to Jurgen Klopp's side is wide of the mark.

Matthijs de Ligt

Who?

A highly-rated defender who has won 15 international caps with Holland and became the youngest player to ever captain Ajax in a  Champions League  game earlier this season at just 19 years old.

Where?

The centre-back has ruled out a move to the Premier League, claim  Montecarlo Radio .

What?

De Ligt, who helped his country to a Nations League semi-final victory over England last night, has been linked with a whole host of top European clubs this summer including Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Reds will not be making a move for the incredibly talented youngster having a number of world-class centre-back options already at their disposal.

Now, Montecarlo believe the teenager will choose between Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain despite talks with the Catalan giants reportedly stumbling over finances. Bayern Munich have also been dismissed as a potential destination.

Bruno Fernandes

Who?

The ball-playing Sporting Lisbon captain and Portugal midfielder.

Where?

Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Fernandes, say Record .

Fernandes’ agent is said to be jetting into England for talks with Manchester United as rivals City are also linked.

Lisbon are prepared to sell for £70m after the skipper bagged an incredible 26 goals from midfield last term.

United were hoping to tie up a deal after the Nations League competition ends where Fernandes helped guide Portugal into the final where they will play Holland on Sunday.

Record, however, believe both Liverpool and Tottenham could now look to hijack any potential transfer to Old Trafford.

What?

For that sort of money it would be unlikely for the Reds to go anywhere near signing Fernandes.

However, according to the  Portuguese media , the player himself has indicated that he likes  Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp's style of play much more than City and their brand of football under Guardiola.

He is quoted as saying: "I like Liverpool a lot more [than Man City]. It’s a more direct [style of play], more offensive, maybe less organised, but more intense football.

"When you do not have the ball possession, you are more intense."
