Liverpool transfer rumours rated - Kylian Mbappe, Mohamed Salah and Alex McCarthy

It's June, the weather isn't as good as we hoped and Liverpool are linked with every player in Europe's top five leagues and beyond.

It's the good, old British summertime, folks.

But some rumours are better than others. Some seem to catch the imagination of fans just that little bit more. Step forward, Kylian Mbappe.

Here are the latest Liverpool transfer rumours, rated:

Kylian Mbappe

Who? French World Cup winner. PSG superstar. Scorer of 60 goals in 87 games for the Paris giants. Ring any bells?

Where? One tweet is all it takes... to send Liverpool fans into overdrive. Or in this case, one retweet. Respected journalist Paul Joyce shared Mbappe's video of his first day of a holiday in the USA, in which he met Liverpool's minority shareholder LeBron James, and Twitter decided that the Frenchman's transfer to Anfield is imminent.

What? It's unlikely, isn't it? Extremely unlikely. Liverpool are the European Champions and could probably attract a player of Mbappe's calibre, but would the Reds really want to spend the money it'd take to bring the 20-year-old to Anfield? The Frenchman cost PSG around £160m when he moved from Monaco two summers ago, and has only improved since then.

Besides, Liverpool have three decent enough forwards already. Which leads us on to..

Mohamed Salah

Who? The Egyptian King, that's who.

Where? The Sunday Mirror , who report that Mohamed Salah received offers from Real Madrid and Juventus, only to decide to stay put at Liverpool this summer. But they do say he'll reevaluate his position next year.

What? Let's face it, Salah probably does receive offers from other big clubs. That's just the way these things work. But the Egyptian, and his agent, have repeatedly stated he is happy at Liverpool. And why wouldn't he be? He's a European champion!

Alex McCarthy

Who? Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy. The 29-year-old lost his place to Angus Gunn last season.

Where? The Sunday Mirror, who claim that the Reds are considering signing McCarthy as back-up to Alisson, should Simon Mignolet leave the club this summer.

What? Well Liverpool are in the market for a back-up goalkeeper, and they can be fairly hard to find, so perhaps McCarthy does make sense.

Mignolet looks odds on to depart this summer, having played just twice last season.
