Liverpool transfer round-up: Thiago 'agreement', Wissam Ben Yedder exit close

Transfer speculation continues to surround Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool as the Premier League champions aim to beat Manchester City ’s 100-point record.

The Reds, though, may have one eye on next season and a chance to win back-to-back titles which has been achieved by very few sides.

In order to do that, Klopp may have to strengthen in the summer despite such a dominant display in the league adding to their total of 97 points from last season.

Strength in depth plays a key part of any title-winning side and the rumoured departures of Xherdan Shaqiri and others mean Liverpool could be looking to strengthen in the transfer window.

Here are the latest Liverpool transfer rumours.

Klopp confirms Lallana exit

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Adam Lallana will leave the Reds this summer.

The midfielder’s contract with the Reds was last month extended until the end of the season but Klopp suggested supporters may not see him in a Liverpool shirt again.

In his pre-match press conference ahead of last night's clash with Brighton and Hove Albion, the Reds manager admitted he will miss the midfielder.

Klopp said: “It is clear Adam will leave the club in the summer - if it’s still summer, hopefully! If the summer ever starts!

“For now if you ask me about it, I miss already everything about him. In this moment and he is still here.

"But we will miss him. He is one of the most influential players on the training quality I have ever had in my life. He is an incredible professional.

“But now we have a difficult situation, but I respect Adam a lot. And everything with Adam is sorted, let me say it like this. He is so fit, he is training, everything is fine.”

Thiago reaches ‘general agreement’ with Reds

Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has reportedly signed a ‘general agreement’ with the Reds ahead of a proposed move to Anfield.

According to Tuttomercato, the player has reached an agreement with Liverpool which only leaves Bayern Munich to agree a price for the Spanish midfielder.

There have been reports suggesting that it could cost just £30million for the Reds to sign Thiago due to his age and history with some injuries.

Ultimately, it could be another step in the right direction for Liverpool in what will be viewed as one of the more unexpected summer signings.

Reported Liverpool target on the verge of departure

Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder is close to leaving the Ligue 1 side this summer, according to manager Robert Moreno.

The centre forward has previously been linked with a move to Anfield and the 29-year-old could be on the move very soon.

Moreno, Ben Yedder’s current boss, believes his man is one of their most important players but they could struggle to keep him at the club this summer.

He told Goal, via HITC: “It’s clear that Wissam Ben Yedder is one of the most important players in this project… he was the top scorer last season with (Kylian) Mbappe.

“All coaches want a player like him. It’s very important to me to have Wissam Ben Yedder and I said that to the club.

“I know that during the transfer window the situation can change at any time, (but) the most important thing for me is to keep Wissam.”
