Liverpool transfer round-up: PSG eye Kylian Mbappe alternative as he considers future

Long-term Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe finds himself at a crossroads with his PSG contract winding down.

The Frenchman is still weighing up his options but the Parisians could be forced into his sale.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are among those most heavily linked with the World Cup winner.

PSG though have already identified other striker options amid fears Mbappe will look to move on.

Jurgen Klopp's attack was criticised last season and there have been calls for him to freshen up his options.

Here are the latest transfer rumours coming out of Anfield.

PSG weigh up options

Liverpool's pursuit of Mbappe could yet be helped by the uncertain future of Harry Kane.

The Tottenham striker is on PSG's radar according to the Express, with Mauricio Pochettino keen on reuniting with the man he worked with in north London.

A move is far more likely if Mbappe opts against signing a new contract in the next month.

That would leave the Frenchman free to pursue other avenues with Liverpool among those linked with his services.

PSG are ready to up the ante and pursue Kane if Mbappe does decide his future lies elsewhere and may be more relaxed regarding the situation knowing a replacement is on the market.

Who do Liverpool need to sign this summer? Have your say below.

Reds urged to make Isak move

Former Red Jose Enrique has urged Liverpool to sign Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad this summer.

The Swedish star is currently showcasing his talents at Euro 2020 and is reportedly available for around £60m this summer.

Isak scored 17 times in La Liga this term and would offer Klopp with a fresh option in attack.

Enrique said on his official Instagram, the former left-back wrote: "I know him very well because he play for Real Sociedad. He is a top player definitely I will sign him and is really young so hopefully we can go for him if we can't go for Haaland or someone like that."

Tsimikas free to leave

Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas is free to leave Anfield despite only joining the Reds 12 months ago.

The Greek international was signed from Olympiacos last summer as a back-up option for Andy Robertson.

However he has found game time hard to come by, making just seven appearances last season.

Tsimikas cost Liverpool £12m last year and Gazzetta Dello Sport report that Napoli are eyeing up a loan swoop.
