Liverpool transfers - Yves Bissouma stance 'confirmed' and Saul Niguez '£68m deal'

A 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season saw Liverpool secure third and Champions League football for next season.

At one stage, that appeared extremely unlikely for Jurgen Klopp's side, but a fine sequence of results, accompanied by Leicester City's downturn in form, saw the tide change.

And no sooner had the whistle blown inside Anfield, fans turned their thoughts to the upcoming transfer window.

Reds boss Klopp will be keen to add to his squad and challenge for the Premier League title next term, but what players will they actually sign?

Here, we take a lookout some of the latest rumours doing the rounds and how likely they are to happen.

Liverpool stance for Bissouma 'confirmed'

Liverpool haven't opened talks with Brighton for Yves Bissouma, according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on the Here We Go podcast.

With Gini Wijnaldum set to depart Anfield this summer, the Reds have been linked with a move for the Seagulls midfielder.

And while Romano admits Bissouma has been scouted by Liverpool, he claims the player is not an active target.

He said: “Talking about Liverpool, they are scouting him because they consider him an interesting player for the future, but there are no bids, no negotiations from Liverpool.

“At the moment he is not the main target, they are not working to sign Bissouma; scouting the player is one thing, signing the player is another thing.

“They are not working on signing Bissouma.”

PSG 'trying to sign' Wijnaldum

Paris Saint-Germain are trying to hijack Barcelona's attempt to sign Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer.

Wijnaldum is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the month when his contract expires at Anfield and his agents met with Barca president Joan Laporta twice last week to discuss a three-year deal at Camp Nou.

It had looked as though he would be set to sign for the Catalan side, but ESPN are now reporting PSG have made a much more generous financial offer to Wijnaldum, who at this moment is leaning towards a move to Paris.

The report also claims that Bayern Munich have also shown an interest in the Dutchman.

Bayern 'win Saul race'

Bayern Munich have reportedly won the race to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

Liverpool and Manchester United have both recently been linked with the midfielder amid suggestions that Diego Simeone's side are open to a sale during this summer's transfer window.

But according to Marca, via Sports Mole, Bayern have quickly moved to the head of the queue for the Spaniard and have now agreed a deal in the region of £68m with his La Liga club.
