Jürgen Klopp began the month by telling journalists that Liverpool would only enter the market if additions were deemed completely necessary.
However, despite an injury crisis in defence and tightening title race, Klopp has not seen fit to add to his squad and is extremely unlikely to do so on Thursday.
With Dejan Lovren, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez nearing returns to fitness, Liverpool have seen off the worst of their issues at the back.
And while Klopp continues to be linked with a number of forwards, no incomings are expected before tonight’s 11.00pm deadline.
Timo Werner
Timo Werner has been consistently linked with Anfield for several years now and the 22-year-old’s future at RB Leipzig remains uncertain.
Werner’s Leipzig contract expires in the summer of 2020, meaning that he is likely to leave this summer unless new terms are signed in the coming months.
Having sold Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth and with Divock Origi on the market, Liverpool may require a reinforcement up front by then.
However, Origi is set to stay and there is no pressing need for Liverpool to bring in Werner or another striker on Thursday.
Abdulkadir Omur
One name to be consistently linked with Anfield this month is Abdulkadir Omur, the Trabzonspor forward.
Reports in Turkey this week suggested that Liverpool officials had ‘shaken hands’ on a £17m deal for Omur.
However, it is understood that Omur is not a target for Klopp and no such negotiations have been held.
Ben Woodburn and Lazar Markovic
If there is to be movement at Anfield on Thursday, it is likely to be out of the door and on a temporary basis.
Ben Woodburn has returned to the club after an unsuccessful loan spell at Sheffield United.
Several other Championship clubs are interested in taking the young winger until the end of the season, with Hull City monitoring his situation.
Lazar Markovic is another player who could leave Anfield on loan today.
The Serbian has not played a first-team match since May 2015 but Liverpool have failed to offload his hefty salary off their wage bill in the years since.
