Mohamed Salah insists he is content at Liverpool and not looking to leave despite Gary Neville tipping him to leave within the next 12 months.
The Egyptian forward has been a revelation since joining from Roma in 2017, winning the Premier League golden boot two years running.
His time at Anfield peaked last season with the Reds’ winning the Champions League, but his journey is only just getting started it seems, despite former Manchester United defender Neville tipping him to move on in the next 12 months.
“I’m happy at Liverpool,” Salah told CNN. “I’m happy in the city.
“I love the fans and they love me. I’m happy at the club.”
Neville had earlier tipped Jurgen Klopp’s talisman to leave, claiming: “Salah’s going to leave in the next 12 months, I can see it already.
“He [Carragher] knows, he won’t say it. He will [leave], I can absolutely guarantee it. I can see it, you can feel it, you can smell it.”
Salah has been an ever present for Klopp so far this season, with three wins out of three, including a goal and an assist, and shared Klopp’s message to the team to ensure standards remain high.
He said: “Keep working hard and if you want to win another thing you have to work harder than maybe did in the last season and you have to really be humble, and okay, Champions League is over. It was last year, so forget it. Fight for the new trophies again this season.”
While Salah concedes the expectations are higher than ever after last season and silverware is now imperative.
“If you play in a club like Liverpool, there’s always big expectation,” Salah added. “You have to win something.
“So there’s always expectation high in the football. So not even if it’s not from yourselves, from the people because they want to see the club winning something.”
