A second report in a week has claimed that Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah and manager Jurgen Klopp have suffered a breakdown in their relationship.
Telefoot journalist Fred Calenge has reiterated claims that the pair no longer get on as well as they used to, and that Real Madrid are interested in bringing the Egyptian to the Bernabeu.
Spanish publication AS had initially claimed that Salah was considering a move away from the Reds after an alleged row with Klopp.
However, those reports were immediately dismissed by the Egyptian’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa, who said: “Talking out of their AS again I see.”
While still amassing an impressive tally of 23 goals in 47 games, Salah has endured somewhat mixed fortunes on the back of his Premier League Player of the Year-winning 2017/18 season.
After suffering a shoulder injury in the Champions League final, the player’s World Cup ended in disappointment after a group stage exit, while Salah was embroiled in controversy after being photographed with Chechnyan leader Ramzan Kadyrov in the build-up to the tournament.
But after overcoming a goal drought and patches of stuttering form in the first half of the season, Salah helped spur Liverpool to the semi-finals of the Champions League and the club remain within touching distance of a first Premier League title.
The 26-year-old, who signed a new contract keeping him at Anfield until 2023 last summer, scored a brilliant long-range goal in Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Chelsea last week, before playing a pivotal role in his side’s gritty victory against Cardiff on Sunday.
Madrid are keen to add another forward to their squad, however, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has long been the club's preferred candidate.
