Liverpool transfer news: Midfielder reveals he'd 'love' to leave Reds in summer

On-loan Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic says he would "love" to rejoin Hertha Berlin in the summer, possibly on a permanent deal.

The Serbian, 22, has been so impressive in the German capital that Hertha manager Pal Dardai recently hailed him as "by far the best midfielder" he'd seen in 20 years' involvement with the club.

Grujic has only featured 14 times for the Reds since becoming Jurgen Klopp's first signing for the club back in January 2016, and he spent a portion of last season on loan at Cardiff .

And when asked by Bild if his time at Hertha would end at the end of the season, when his loan deal expires, Grujic said: "I hope not! Because I feel very comfortable in Berlin.

Liverpool star 'seduced' by Zinedine Zidane transfer interest, say Spanish press

"Hertha gave me the great opportunity to play in the Bundesliga.

"I'm still pretty young, for me this time at Hertha - with the exception of injuries - has been brilliant so far to show my qualities.

"Ultimately, it's not up to me. But if I could choose myself, I would stay with Hertha for another year, or maybe even two years, to make a very good name for myself by improving all my qualities. And that's only possible if you play in every game."

Grujic has also been linked with the likes of Lazio and Galatasaray, but he insists that he's quite taken with his current side.

"Yes, Hertha is my favourite," he continued. "I would love to stay here longer.

"My self-confidence has increased due to so much match practice. My defensive behavior has also improved a lot because of the games."

"And if Liverpool ever wanted to sell me and I could decide, it would be great if Hertha made an offer."
