Liverpool could use Harry Wilson in the race to sign Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser from under their rivals' noses.
Fraser has the Premier League's top clubs on alert after firing seven goals and 14 assists for the Cherries this season.
Arsenal and Manchester City are also reportedly keen on the 25-year-old, who could cost around £25million.
But Liverpool could gain an advantage by tempting Bournemouth with Wilson, who banged in 18 goals and claimed four assists while on loan at Derby County in the Championship last season.
Wilson has helped fire Derby into next week's Championship play-off final. But whether or not the Rams earn promotion, the 22-year-old Wales international appear set to play in the top flight next term, with a host of Premier League clubs after him.
Bournemouth , Newcastle , Southampton and Brighton are the top-flight contingent asking for Liverpool to keep them abreast of the Reds' plans for Wilson next season.

The Rams are also keen to hang on to the 22-year-old if they gain promotion to the Premier by beating Aston Villa in Monday’s play-off final.
HITC asserts that Liverpool could use Wilson to snap up Fraser - either in a permanent swap deal, or by loaning Wilson to the Cherries to help them transition through the loss of their player.
