Liverpool transfer makes return ahead of Chelsea as new-look centre-back revealed

Kostas Tsimikas was among the players training at Melwood on Wednesday as Liverpool stepped up their preparations for Sunday's visit to Chelsea.

Tsimikas is yet to make his competitive debut for the Reds following his £11.7million arrival from Olympiakos last month.

The 24-year-old remained on the bench during the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal and wasn't in the matchday squad for the Premier League opener against Leeds United last week, with reports in Greece claiming he had tested positive for coronavirus having been ill during international duty with his country earlier this month.

But the left-back was involved during the Reds' latest session ahead of the weekend trip to Stamford Bridge.

Xherdan Shaqiri, another not to have featured this season, again joined in with full training as he aims to regain sharpness after a minor injury complaint.

Harry Wilson was also part of the squad that included youngsters Sepp van den Berg and Ki-Jana Hoever.

There was one surprise, though, with teenage centre-back Billy Koumetio having completely shaven his head and removed his previously impressive hairstyle.
