Former Liverpool favourite Dietmar Hamann believes all signs point to Thiago Alcantara moving to Anfield during the transfer window.
Thiago is almost certain to have played his final game for Bayern Munich after helping them win the Champions League by beating Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the final in Lisbon on Sunday.
The 29-year-old midfielder has turned down the offer of a new contract at the Bundesliga side with Bayern now looking to move him on before his present deal expires next summer.
While reports in Germany have long linked the Reds with a move for Thiago, the Premier League champions have not yet shown any inclination of acting on Jurgen Klopp's admiration of the player, who the Bundesliga side value at €30million (£26.7m).
But ex-Reds and Bayern midfielder Hamann is convinced the Spain international is on his way to Anfield.
"It looks like he's been offered a contract in Munich which he turned down," said Hamann.
"He obviously must have shown an interest in staying otherwise they wouldn't have offered him a new contract.

"But at the last minute he pulled out and said he might want to do something else.
"I'd be very surprised if he turns down a contract for Bayern Munich if he hasn't got anything else so I am sure he's got an offer from Liverpool now.
"It is probably about the transfer fee now."
Hamann, speaking to talkSPORT, believes Thiago would bring a fresh aspect to Liverpool's style of play in the engine room.
"I never felt he's a defensive or a holding midfielder or he can play that role but I have got to say he was absolutely magnificent yesterday (against PSG) the way he pulled things together," said Hamann.
"He's a brilliant footballer as we know so I think he can a different and a new dimension to Liverpool's midfield. I would be surprised if he doesn't end up in Liverpool."
