Liverpool told to 'steal' from Man United with Jadon Sancho transfer by ex-Reds striker

Liverpool have been told to ‘steal’ Jadon Sancho from Manchester United by one of their former players.

The Reds were tentatively linked with the Borussia Dortmund forward last summer, as were Man United, before the Bundesliga club made it clear they would not sell below their £105m asking price.

Links between Sancho and Man United were much stronger than those with Liverpool, but a host of other clubs have been credited with an interest including Chelsea.

Sancho's form in 2019/20 saw his name linked with a big money exit from Dortmund, after scoring 20 goals and providing the same number of assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.

Now former Liverpool striker Fabio Borini has said he would enjoy seeing his old club sign Sancho, and “steal” him from Man United.

"Looking at Liverpool's competitors I think more depth in the attacking positions would do the team good," Borini told CaughtOffside.

"Jadon Sancho would be a great signing and it would be fun to steal him from Man United."

It's not just Sancho that has been linked with Liverpool, with his Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland also tipped to leave this summer, and Anfield has been credited as a potential destination, among a host of others.
