Liverpool told they should 'worry' about Chelsea as Joe Cole makes 'no weaknesses' claim

Former Liverpool player Joe Cole has claimed that title contenders Chelsea have 'no weaknesses' after they moved further clear at the top of the Premier League.

Chelsea were in early kick-off action as they faced Leicester City, and ran out convincing 3-0 winners at the King Power Stadium.

Antonio Rudiger opened the scoring for Thomas Tuchel’s side, before N’Golo Kante doubled their lead with a goal against his former club.

A strike from Christian Pulisic midway through the second half sealed the victory for Chelsea, which saw them extend their lead at the summit to six points from second-placed Manchester City, and seven ahead of Liverpool going into their game against Arsenal.

Cole, who made 42 appearances in just a single season at Anfield, has said that his other former club Chelsea are in a strong position.

“You try to pick holes out of a team that has no weaknesses,” said Cole, speaking on BT Sport.

“You look at the strength of the bench, there is so much quality in the team. They’re six points clear. They were exceptional today, just the whole way the system works.”

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, who was working alongside Cole as a pundit for BT Sport, echoed the views of the former Liverpool man.

Ferdinand also had a warning for other clubs fighting for the Premier League title.

“Thiago Silva was the conductor from the back, a completely composed and authoritative performance,” said Ferdinand. “He spread through the team like wildfire.

“(Edouard) Mendy whenever he was called up, produced. You can go through this team and everyone is playing at a seven and above.

“Great goalkeepers and players get called upon every so often. It’s about the concentration and coming up at the right moments and he (Mendy) did that. He has been magnificent and the clean sheets are massive at the moment.

“Every single player, even the ones coming on are impacting the game.

“I must add £150m striker (Romelu Lukaku) is not on the pitch today. That’s going to be a worry for other team. Goals are coming from everywhere. "
