Liverpool to sign former West Ham goalkeeper Adrian to replace Simon Mignolet

Former West Ham keeper Adrian has emerged as Liverpool’s candidate to replace the departing Simon Mignolet.

Club Brugge announced this morning they have reached an agreement in principle with the Belgium international, and will complete a deal for £6.4m - potentially rising to £8.2m - after a medical today.

That leaves Reds boss Jurgen Klopp searching for an understudy to no1 keeper Alisson before the transfer deadline… which for Liverpool is effectively at noon on Thursday if they want the keeper available for their opening fixture

And it seems Klopp is ready to make a move for 32 year old Adrian, who is currently without a club, after leaving the Hammers at the end of his contract in June.

The experienced Spaniard played more than 150 games for the London club, and previously starred for Real Betis.

His contract status makes him the perfect signing for the Reds, meaning they won’t have to go through much red tape or negotiation to get the deal over the line.
