Liverpool have agreed a deal to sell Simon Mignolet to Club Brugge – with the Reds now poised to bring in another goalkeeper before the transfer window closes.
The Reds have negotiated a transfer of 7million euros rising to 9m euros with achievable bonuses for the 31-year-old.
Mignolet flew from London to Belgium on Sunday evening to conclude the deal with a medical on Monday after being on the bench for the Community Shield against Manchester City in the afternoon.
Liverpool have allowed Mignolet to leave after they refused an offer last summer from Napoli of a loan with a 3m euro option, a move that allowed Loris Karius to join Beskitas on a two-year loan with a commitment to buy.
Mignolet made only two appearances last season as deputy to Alisson Becker, and had been keen to leave in pursuit of regular first-team football in an attempt to safeguard his place in the Belgium national squad.
Mignolet, whose professionalism was praised by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp earlier this year, is understood to be leaving on excellent terms with the Reds having reluctantly agreed to his departure.
He made 204 appearances for the club having been signed from Sunderland for £9m in the summer of 2013, and picked up a Champions League winners' medal having been on the bench for the final against Tottenham Hotspur in June.
With their other goalkeeper options inexperienced, Liverpool will bring in a replacement before Thursday's deadline.
Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is believed to be the frontrunner, and was left out of the Saints' squad that won 2-0 against FC Koln on Saturday in their final pre-season friendly.
Liverpool have also considered a number of other options, including former West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian who is a free agent.
