Liverpool to lift Premier League trophy on the Kop after Chelsea visit Anfield

Liverpool have confirmed that they will lift the Premier League trophy on the Kop during a presentation ceremony following next week’s meeting with Chelsea.

The Reds’ 30-year wait for a top-flight title came to an end last month when a Manchester City defeat at Stamford Bridge meant they could no longer mathematically catch the leaders.

And they will receive their prize after the final home game of the season, which sees Champions League-chasing Chelsea visit Merseyside.

Wwith supporters unable to attend as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the Merseyside club have formulated a unique celebration of their success.

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters and Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish will hand out the medals to Jurgen Klopp and his victorious squad before captain Jordan Henderson lifts the trophy on a platform situated in Anfield’s most famous stand.

The game is set to be broadcast free to air on Sky as part of a push to ensure that no fans congregate outside in celebration.
