Liverpool to be hotter than GREECE as Bank Holiday temperatures soar - but there's bad news

It may be cool in Greece and raining in Spain, but Liverpool is basking in the glorious weather.

Highs of 22C were enjoyed by sunseekers as clear, blue skies appeared on Good Friday.

The warm weather continued on Saturday with highs of 23C, but temperatures soared on Easter Sunday to 24C as shoppers took a rest on the steps of  Liverpool ONE.

Beaches were also booming across the region with many enjoying the stunning views and a seaside ice cream.

In Liverpool today, temperatures will peak to 24C, as the sunshine remains in the city until late afternoon.

It's also not good news for hay fever suffers as pollen levels will be high for most today. With plenty of sunshine the UV will also be moderate, so remember to cover up.

The Met Office said: "There will be warm sunshine through most of the day. Later in the afternoon we may see a little more cloud around and this brings a risk of the odd thundery shower, but most places will be staying dry.

"The maximum temperature will be 24C. Some cloud around, with the chance of a shower in places.

"However it will stay dry for most, and it will be chilly by dawn. Minimum temperature 9C."
