Liverpool tipped to smash transfer world record, Man Utd table £36m bid and Gareth Bale agent rejects claims - Premier League transfer rumours

Here are the latest Premier League transfer rumours on Tuesday, July 2.

Liverpool tipped to break the bank this summer

Liverpool are being tipped to potentially smash more world records this summer as they look to bolster their squad in a bid to win the Premier League next season.

Respected Sunday Times journalist Jonathan Norcroft, speaking to The Transfer Window podcast , believes a pattern has emerged that suggests a major arrival could be imminent at Anfield.

He said: “(Virgil) Van Dijk and Alisson (Becker) came for world-record fees. I think is a trend that we’ll see continuing. They can afford to look at the cream now.

“This is a sign of Liverpool’s evolution; they’ve been building towards getting themselves in this position probably for six years now… Now they’re in a position where they can just pick off – they feel – the top players that they need at the top end of the market.”

The Reds are currently being linked with a move for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele, who moved to Spain from Jurgen Klopp's former club Dortmund for £120m two years ago.

Bale stories 'not true'

Gareth Bale is not on the brink of joining Inter Milan on loan this summer, according to reports.

Italian media had reported a move to Inter was on the cards and that talks had already been held.

But Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett told Mundo Deportivo the claims are without foundation, saying: “The information that has been said is not true.”

Man Utd's next big bid

Manchester United have submitted a £36million bid for Dinamo Zagreb winger Dani Olmo, according to reports.

The Sun claim the Premier League side are ready to make the winger their next signing.

The 21-year-old was Croatia’s Player of the Season last term after scoring 12 goals and would become Dinamo's most expensive player in history if the deal goes ahead.

Tottenham wrap up double deal

Tottenham Hotspur were busy in the transfer market on Tuesday.

Spurs wrapped up the signing of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele for a reported fee of £65 million, and their business for the day didn't end there.

Tottenham also snapped up Jack Clarke from Leeds for a deal worth around £10 million, but he will return to Elland Road on loan, so Spurs fans won't get to see him in action for their club just yet.
