Liverpool throw-in coach explains his role in helping Reds land sixth European Cup

Liverpool's throw-in coach, Thomas Gronnemark, has explained in more detail the role he has played in helping the Reds land the European Cup.

Gronnemark, who describes himself as a "Freelance throw-in coach" was appointed by Jurgen Klopp last August.

It is the first time the Reds appointed a coach to that role and at the time Klopp explained: "When I heard about Thomas, it was clear to me I wanted to meet him; when I met him, it was 100 per cent clear I wanted to employ him.

"You cannot have enough specialists around you. I must always be the guy who makes the decisions on when we use all these specialists but you cannot have enough. We have the fitness, medical department, we have the nutrition, and now we have somebody for throw-ins.

“He’s a good guy, to be honest. He has already made a difference."

In the wake of last night's 2-0 victory over Tottenham to land Liverpool's sixth Champions League, Gronnemark was asked on Twitter: "Does Liverpool's throw-in coach only work on technique? Because their throw-in movements/overall set-pieces were great last night."

Gronnemark, who will is likely to receive one of Liverpool's 40 winners' medal, proudly replied: "I'm also working on the movement... everything about the throw-ins... all around the pitch."

Liverpool scored from a penalty kick and a corner to land their sixth Champions League trophy.
