Liverpool teen Conor Bradley 'incredibly proud' to make first-team debut

Northern Ireland youngster Conor Bradley has voiced his pride after making his senior Liverpool debut.

The teenage defender started Tuesday's pre-season friendly against Stuttgart in Austria.

Bradley was one of two Liverpool Academy prospects to be handed game time by Jurgen Klopp, with midfielder Tyler Morton featuring in the second game against Wacker Innsbruck.

It was a moment to remember for the 18-year-old who lined up alongside star names including Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, James Milner and summer signing Ibrahima Konate.

The game itself ended in a 1-1 draw with Mane equalising after the Reds had fallen behind.

“Just incredibly proud,” Bradley told Liverpool's website.

“Obviously I’ve supported this club all my life, so to get my first-team debut – only a friendly match – but just incredibly proud.”

It has been a year to remember for former Dungannon Swifts youngster Bradley, who also made his senior Northern Ireland debut back in May in the friendly win over Malta.

The right-back believes first-team experience at club and international level will only develop him further as a player.

“That’s obviously important as well for being a professional footballer: you look after yourself and look after the way you eat, how much you sleep, hydration. Watch how they do it and obviously learn from that,” the 18-year-old added.

“I just want to keep trying to better myself, trying to keep improving and trying to impress the manager the best way I can do. I just want to keep working hard and see what happens from there.”
